Very cool that you have taken over as in charge of this iconic magazine..Dude, I was just like you, couldn’t wait for the new Kiss album,Iron Maiden,Van Halen or Queen Album to come out just for the photos or posters included…Same with magazines…I always loved Rock Scene because they published shots differant from the other magazines and the coolest photo shoots, not the same photographers who shot for Circus,Creem and Hit Parader…I’ll always remember the Queen covers,Early Van Halen covers and those special issues lthat put one band against the other like Rush vs. Kiss, or Queen vs. Led Zeppelin……As you know, I also became a professional rock photog like yourself, and we know each other , and i’m proud of what you have accomplished and stillremain a very humble down to earth guy, always saying hello to me and being a nice guy through the years, not letting what you do or who you work with go to your head, like some others…Hopefully i’ll seeyou at a show soon and we can chat for a minute….Good Luck and happy holidays!!! Mark, I remember when i was a kid in the late 70’s Rock Scene always had the coolest pix of Van Halen and Queen(they are my favorire bands still)….I also remember these special editions like Kiss vs. Led Zeppelin…Queen vs. Ac/Dc that were always cool…..Rock Scene for me blew away all the other magazines, although Circus back in the day was also a great mag……That’s cool that you now are in charge of this iconic magazine..Good luck to you and maybe I’ll see you at a show soon……

This is a great interview….I had heard a rumour that Zakk was having trouble with his health again, but judging from this interview….it probably was just a rumour, thank God!
I really loved that b/w pic he was showing us!!!! Where can I find it? It’s so hot!!! Mark you looked so cool as always!! You haven’t changed one bit like Zakk pointed out. I guess it’s just a Gemini thng…heeheehee.

I have some pretty awesome vintage issues circa 77-81. I was an avid reader of this mag back in the day and was excited when I happened upon them yesterday. I loved this publication as a teenager!!
